What's Included in a Full Paver Restoration

  1. Deep cleaning. Surface-cleaner pass removes mildew, algae, oil, stains, and ground-in dirt.
  2. Joint sand removal. Old, depleted joint sand is power-washed out so new sand bonds properly.
  3. Weed and moss removal. Anything growing in the joints is killed at the root.
  4. Polymeric sand installation. New polymeric sand is swept into every joint, settled, and activated with water — it hardens to lock pavers in place and block weed growth.
  5. Optional sealing. Color-enhancing or matte sealer protects the surface, deepens the natural paver color, and prevents future staining.

They see the white haze (that's efflorescence — mineral salts rising out of the stone), the weeds and ants taking over the joints (that means your polymeric sand has washed out), the color going flat — and assume the patio is at the end of its life. It isn't. The pavers themselves last 30+ years. What fails is the maintenance layer: the sand and the sealer. Restoring that layer costs a fraction of what it takes to rip out and re-lay the same hardscape.

Paver Sealing: Wet-Look or Natural Matte

Sealing is what separates a cleaned patio from a protected one. A quality sealer locks the new joint sand in place, blocks stains from settling in, starves weeds and ants of a foothold, and — if you choose a color-enhancing "wet look" sealer — deepens the paver color so the surface looks permanently rich, like it does right after the rain. Prefer the original look? A natural matte sealer protects without changing the finish.

A reseal every 2–3 years keeps the protection (and the look) at full strength. We track it for you — most of our paver clients are on a simple maintenance cycle, which is far cheaper than starting from scratch each time.
